The Miracle League field is a baseball diamond designed to serve physically challenged kids by creating a field that is totally accessible, utilizing specialty surfacing materials. After learning about the national organization, Withers & Ravenel joined forces with a local developer to help create such a field in their community. Donating planning, engineering design and surveying services to the cause, the firm was able to enhance the project’s value to the community by partnering with Wake County Public Schools and providing the added benefit of an asphalt walking track around the field for the use of the students at the Cary elementary school nearby citizens.

This project won an award from American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina, Engineering Excellence Awards Competition, 2007
