Stormwater infrastructure retrofits often involve tight physical constraints or highly visible public areas. They frequently include external factors specific to that project, running the gamut from working with local traffic patterns and coordinating with neighboring landowners to scheduling around special events. When clients are balancing the need for multiple retrofits against limited budgets, cost/benefit considerations become paramount. WithersRavenel understands project prioritization within Capital Improvement Plans and often helps to identify and prioritize projects as well as develop improvement plans.
To overcome these challenges, WithersRavenel employs several strategies honed through projects across the Piedmont and the Coastal Plain. When evaluating potential retrofits, we look at multiple alternatives with an eye on the incremental value of improvements. We also look for opportunities to complete retrofits as part of, or in conjunction with, larger redevelopment efforts like road or utility reconstruction. Above all, we adhere to the scope of work to make sure these infrastructure improvements achieve the intended goals within the appropriated budgets.
