Boosting downtowns: Salisbury hosts NC Main Street Conference

Downtown development will come into sharp focus for an upcoming three-day conference in Salisbury.

The annual North Carolina Main Street Conference brings hundreds of attendees together March 12-14 to enjoy class offerings, speakers, exhibitors and the opportunity to network with other people also committed to thriving downtowns. This year’s theme is “Main Street: Time, Talent & Money.”

WithersRavenel is a Tradition Sponsor and Exhibitor for the annual conference. This year’s host city, Salisbury, is one of the original Main Street programs in the state and the country. Since beginning its Main Street program in 1980, the city has helped create more than 350 businesses, renovated more than 330 buildings and achieved nearly $149 million in investment.

Tuesday’s keynote speaker is Nicole Leinbach Reyhle, founder of RetailMinded.com. She will share her retail strategies to help businesses and downtowns thrive.

On Wednesday, keynote speaker Ken Anderson will explain his 10 best concepts for success in entrepreneurial pursuits and in life. Anderson is the regional business manager for the Delaware Division of Small Business.
