27 Jul Lee County mega housing development breaks ground
On July 15, the Sanford Area Growth Alliance and Alabama-based Criteria Development broke ground in Lee County for a 630+ acre mega housing development. With a planned build-out of more than 2,000 housing units, it will be the largest residential development in the County’s history.
The development is divided into two main project areas: Galvin’s Ridge and Laurel Oaks.
Galvin’s Ridge is a 1,000-unit community that will feature a mix of single-family homes, townhomes, and apartments. Residents will be served by a variety of amenities, including a clubhouse, public and private greenways, a community pool, a playground, a dog park, a multi-sport court, and a picnic area.
Laurel Oaks is a 625-unit community on 210 acres that will offer a mix of townhomes and single-family detached housing. Residents will enjoy access to a clubhouse, playground, tot lot, and greenway trails.
