23 Apr WithersRavenel Holds Statewide Habitat for Humanity Day
In honor of National Volunteer Week, WithersRavenel employees gathered in southeast Raleigh, Wilmington, and Greensboro on Saturday, April 21, to support the work of Habitat for Humanity. In Raleigh, one team applied siding to a new build; in Wilmington, another team gutted the entire inside of an existing home to prepare it for a new interior. In Greensboro, our volunteers had been prepared to lay laminate flooring, but in the wake of the tornado that struck two weekends ago, their efforts were shifted to cleaning up and making repairs in the areas affected by the disaster.
Across the state, our staff donated their time and skills to help build—and rebuild—affordable homes for those who might not otherwise have access to them. As engineers, planners, scientists, and surveyors, we often talk about creating communities, but on Saturday we shared the invaluable experience of putting our hands and hearts to work in a more direct way. We count ourselves fortunate to have the resources and abilities to contribute to our communities, and we look forward to working with Habitat for Humanity again in the future.
