22 Jan WithersRavenel’s Ken Orie brings passion for helping clients in new role as Utilities Engineering Director
Ken Orie, PE, has been promoted to Utilities Engineering Director at WithersRavenel.
In this position, in addition to his role as Special Projects Manager, he will be tasked with implementing effective communication practices, staff recruitment, employee development, quality control, standard products and practices, and creating interdepartmental “practice area” teams.
Ken has extensive experience in project management, asset management, and water and wastewater treatment and conveyance. His background also includes stormwater, planning, wet weather planning, SCADA system design and implementation, rehabilitation, hydrology, hydraulic modeling, regulations and all aspects of water resource engineering.
Ken is passionate about helping municipalities evaluate the most efficient and cost-effective means to successfully complete projects. He is eager to work with WithersRavenel’s Utilities engineers and our clients in this new role.
“I’m excited by the opportunity to take on greater responsibilities and continue the growth of our public sector and the Utilities Department by delivering successful projects to our clients,” he said.
Ken holds Professional Engineer licensing in NC, SC, VA and PA. Additionally, he belongs to the American Public Works Association and maintains NASSCO certification. He attended Penn State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural & Biological Engineering.
