Each year, the Appalachian State University Local Government Alumni Association (ASULGAA) holds a fall conference in Boone, NC. The event is accompanied by a benefit golf tournament and barbecue. WithersRavenel is a proud sponsor of the annual ASULGAA barbecue, which celebrates the achievements of long-standing and up-and-coming members of the association.
The ASULGAA provides mentoring opportunities and support to members as they enter positions in local, state, and federal government; non-profit organizations; colleges and universities; and private business. Members are graduates of Appalachian State University’s Master of Public Administration, an accredited program focused on equipping students to become exemplary public service leaders. It includes core course work in research, policy, personnel administration, and fiscal administration. It also offers concentrations in administration of justice; not-for-profit management; public management; and town, city, and county management.
WithersRavenel has been involved with the ASULGAA in some capacity for two and half decades—nearly as long as it has been in existence. In 2019, the firm dedicated a lecture room to the university’s Master of Public Administration Program. This room is one of the primary lecture spaces used during the 42-hour terminal degree program.
To all the alumni who will be joining us today for the ASULGAA barbecue—we look forward to seeing you at what promises to be another memorable event!
