WithersRavenel welcomes Will Cauthen as a new member of our Business Development team.
Will brings a bounty of experience, helping municipalities deliver water and wastewater solutions through asset management and rehabilitation services. He spent more than 15 years working with companies that directly served local governments and their public works departments. With a focus on customer engagement in North Carolina and throughout the Southeast, Will understands the needs and limitations of municipalities as they work to provide safe, quality infrastructure for their residents.
Additionally, Will served as the Mayor of Cramerton for five years, with additional experience as Mayor Pro Tempore and as Commissioner for the Gaston County town. He also spent more than a decade on the Centralina Regional Council’s Board of Delegates, with one term on the Executive Committee. His background in local and regional governance will help him advise elected officials and municipal employees on the myriad challenges they face on a regular basis.
“I am very passionate about helping our municipalities in North Carolina achieve their goals with finite resources,” Will said. “There is nothing that I love more than learning about what makes each small village or major city special to its citizens. I can’t express my excitement in joining the WithersRavenel family!”
Will has an MBA and a bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina. He currently serves as an advisory member of the Save the Historic Baltimore School Committee and the North Carolina Rural Water Association Conference Committee, and served as a Deacon at New Hope Presbyterian Church in Gastonia. He cofounded and chaired the Southfork Collective and continues as a committee member. He lives in Cramerton with his wife of 16 years, Wendy, with their rottweiler/lab, Oliver. In their free time, they explore small towns around the Southeast, hunting hiking trails, breweries, public art, and live music everywhere they go.
