If you haven’t been to downtown Cary recently, it’s time for a visit! There is a flurry of construction activity and WithersRavenel is excited to continue our 39-year track record of helping our clients turn site concepts to concrete while working on several projects simultaneously. Our current work includes both public and private projects with the Downtown Cary Park, The Rogers Building, and The Walker all in active construction.
Downtown Cary Park
Encompassing seven acres of rolling terrain in the heart of downtown Cary, we are excited to see continued progress in the redesign and improvements at the Downtown Cary Park.
The park will include outdoor spaces for kids, adults, and their four-legged friends with paths and skywalks connecting every corner for easy access.
When complete in 2023, the park will include a variety of amenities including:
- The Bark Bar
- The Great Lawn Pavilion
- Academy Plaza
- The Nest
- The Gathering House
- Water Feature
WithersRavenel is providing civil design services for OJB, the landscape architect who is working as prime consultant for the Town of Cary.
The Rogers Building
Standing three stories tall above Chatham Street, The Rogers Building will bring Class A office and ground floor retail to this vibrant corridor.
The two sides of the project, Rogers East and Rogers West, are connected in the middle by a pair of sky bridges. The project also includes improvements to Rogers Alley, creating a pedestrian-friendly environment to gather with removable bollards to control vehicle traffic as needed during events.
WithersRavenel is proud to partner with our client, Chatham Street Commercial, on this transformative development, providing civil design services as well as utilities design for Rogers Alley.
The Walker
The Walker is a unique public-private partnership between the development team and the Town of Cary. The project began after completion of a shared parking structure and the new Cary Regional library, which opened in 2019.
After the grand opening of the library, construction began on The Walker Apartments. The first phase of the project includes 153 apartment homes in a mix of studio, 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom units. The apartments wrap the north, east, and south faces of the project with the northern units, providing views directly into the Downtown Cary Park. On the south side of the project, the next phase will include 102,000 square feet of Class A office. Once complete, The Walker will also include a total of 34,000 square feet of ground floor retail space fronting Walnut Street and South Walker Street.
WithersRavenel is working directly with the development team including Triangle Real Estate Company, MacKenan Property Group, and Monument Property Group to provide site civil design services on all phases of the project.
