WithersRavenel welcomes Ken Pohlig, Ph.D., PE, as a Senior Technical Consultant in our Utilities Department.
Ken comes from North Carolina state government, where he worked for more than 30 years with the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Division of Water Infrastructure, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. For the last several years, he primarily supervised and led a team of engineers who managed wastewater projects funded through the State Revolving Fund (SRF) and also American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding during application, review, and approval processes through construction.
With experience in both the technical and funding aspects of wastewater engineering projects in the state of North Carolina, Ken will be a valuable resource to our team of utilities engineers. His expertise will also benefit our clients as they put together SRF funding applications, and also as they navigate the intricacies of wastewater projects which rely on SRF dollars.
“I am looking forward to a new chapter in my life, working with the WithersRavenel team as they strive to best serve the needs of their clients,” Ken said.
Ken has a Ph.D. and Master of Science degree in Environmental (Civil) Engineering from Tufts University, along with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and electrical engineering from Virginia Military Institute. Ken also served four years in the U.S. Air Force in the early 1980s.
Ken and his wife Kimberly stay active with 3 grown kids and 7 grandchildren, and are also active with deaf and hard-of-hearing people in their local church and local area.
