Municipal parks and recreation directors from throughout North Carolina are coming to the coast for an annual gathering.
The annual North Carolina Parks and Recreation Directors Conference is Feb. 5-7 at the Wilmington Convention Center. Members of the WithersRavenel Parks and Recreation Studio will be at the conference. Presentations, discussions and workshops blend education with networking opportunities at the event.
Keynote speaker for the conference will be Chris Nunes, director of parks and recreation for The Woodlands in Texas. His address focuses on “Creating and Ensuring a Relevant Parks and Recreation Agency.” Other sessions are scheduled Wednesday through Friday, ranging from project planning and management to information on grant assistance.
