The WithersRavenel family is mourning the loss of a beloved team member.
Wade Pudwill, a Client Experience Manager (CXM) at our Raleigh office, passed away at his residence on February 15, 2024, at the age of 56. At work, Wade was a team player with a can-do attitude. Chad Simmons, Director of Client Experience, remembers him as someone “who was always willing to help others and take on a leadership role.”
Not only was he a reliable teammate, Wade took ownership and initiative on projects. “He really liked the opportunities that arose where he could function as a CXM and really make a positive impact on our clients,” reminisces Don Mizelle, Practice Area Lead, Client Experience.
Wade not only left a lasting impact as a co-worker for both Don and Chad, but also on a personal level as a doting dad.
For Wade, his children were the priority. He was proud of his daughter, Lauren, a student at Virginia Tech. He spent a lot of time with his teenage son, and Don says Wade had animated conversations whenever he talked about his son, especially his sports activities. “Wade didn’t miss many opportunities to see him play and to talk about it with others,” Don said.
“He relished his son’s summer camps at Cameron Indoor,” according to Chad.
Wade himself enjoyed playing and following sports. An avid golfer, he could be found on the golf course teeing off as often as he could. As an alumnus of South Dakota State University, he kept up with the Jackrabbits, especially their football team. He gave arch sports rival Brock Storrusten, WithersRavenel’s Chief Strategy Officer and a North Dakota State University alum, a lot of ribbing (and vice versa) when they talked college sports. He also loved the outdoors, and often went deer hunting and fishing along the coast.
A native of South Dakota, Wade is survived by his children, Kade and Lauren, his father, Jerald Pudwill, and sisters Tarra and Tamera.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Gentiva Hospice Care, 1423 South Glenburnie Road, New Bern, NC 28562.
