A WithersRavenel landscape architect and longtime Cary resident has been selected as part of the 2019-20 Leadership Cary class.
Shweta Nanekar, PLA, LEED AP (BD+C), will be a part of the Cary Chamber of Commerce’s unique seven-month leadership program. Participants will come together for educational sessions, where they will take a deep dive into the Cary community. They will learn about economic development, nonprofits, government agencies, and other local groups. Through these events, participants will be able to network with other community leaders and discover ways to affect change in Cary and across the Triangle.
Nanekar is a Project Manager and Landscape Architect in WithersRavenel’s Parks and Recreation Studio. Her areas of emphasis include overall project design and management. She also works on master planning for parks and recreation facilities with a focus on children, teens and family-friendly design. She not only shines as a leader in WithersRavenel, but also speaks at local, state and national conferences on topics related to child-friendly environments and landscape architecture.
For 16 years, Nanekar and her family have been residents of Cary, where she is serving her second term on the Town’s Environmental Advisory Board. The board aims to help Cary maintain high standards of environmental stewardship. Nanekar enjoys serving on the committee and volunteering at special events throughout Town.
Congratulations to Shweta on this great honor!
