The recently completed Rogers Building in downtown Cary was one of many projects that WithersRavenel worked on in recent years. Now, it is our second home in town.
The beautiful site on East Chatham Street is our newest office location in the Triangle, with many of our multidisciplinary team members officially making the move on January 23. One of the obvious reasons for the new office is that WithersRavenel continues to grow as a company. Our employee total eclipsed 400 in 2023, and we are looking to add more professional team members. As we continue to draw talent, an office with modern amenities like accessibility to restaurants, coffee shops, and other urban attractions—features that are usually not available in a suburban office park setting—plays an important role.
Roots in Cary
Senior Technical Consultant Ed Tang, PE, who has been involved in the Rogers Building and other Town projects, believes the proximity to Town Hall will strengthen collaboration by fostering greater engagement with Town staff and leaders. “After all, WithersRavenel was founded in Cary 40 years ago, and that’s where our firm’s roots are,” he said.
Ed loves the new space. He has several reasons to feel that way. “It is the newest and tallest building in historic downtown Cary,” he said. “I park my car and don’t have to get into it until the end of each day to go home. It puts us in walking distance to great restaurants, Town Hall, the new Downtown Cary Park that WithersRavenel worked on for four years and which opened in November. It is so great to be part of the downtown community … and to see the work that our team members have invested in and to see others enjoy the spaces that we helped design to make the daily life of people better.”
Amenities and a view
WithersRavenel occupies about 16,000 square feet on two floors in the Rogers East building that connects to the West building through an atrium. The new office has two large conference rooms and other smaller ones, a large training room, and a huddle and collaboration space on each floor. There is also a kitchen and breakroom space, along with a balcony that boasts a sweeping view of downtown. The ground floor has 10,000 square feet of retail space that will house a women’s clothing boutique, a men’s clothing store, a restaurant, and a real estate office.
For now, the teams that have moved into the new building include utilities, residential and site civil development, and human resources professionals.
The downtown location is 167 E. Chatham Street, Suite 210, Cary, NC 27511. WithersRavenel’s headquarters is at 115 MacKenan Drive in Cary, with offices in Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Pittsboro, Raleigh, Southern Pines, and Wilmington.
