WithersRavenel is a consultant in the Duke Energy Site Readiness Program. Team members contributed in various roles with stakeholder engagement and in-person meetings always a priority.
During the evaluation process, we assessed each community’s engagement levels, workforce, and location characteristics. We also evaluated the sites based on various elements such as access, wetlands, drainageways, adjacent road networks, topography, and public and private utility availability. Based on the findings, WithersRavenel prepared a buildable area exhibit to illustrate the potential for future site development at each location. The team also recommended additional studies be considered to further understand the site constraints and minimize development risks.
After the evaluation, we presented reports to the community, local agencies, and property owners. These reports included detailed information about the community’s strengths and opportunities, as well as site evaluations that included the buildable area maps and yield studies. Additionally, we provided next-step recommendations for the site and community to increase the chances of winning an industrial project.
We also worked with Duke Energy to identify new sites appropriate for industrial development along the proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline. This project involved extensive Geographic Information System (GIS) screening and utilizing extensive data analysis in the specific evaluation of certain areas.
