Trilogy Cameron Village is a luxury apartment community in Raleigh, NC. It offers studio and one- and two-bedroom apartments with access to amenities like a pool, fitness center, and lounge, and pet park. WithersRavenel laid the groundwork for the community by preparing the site for development, including grading, utilities, and access improvements.
Our Geomatics team performed boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys to understand the site constraints. They also worked with an environmental subconsultant to prepare a Brownfields map to support an application to the NCDEQ Brownfields Program for a Brownfields Agreement.
Meanwhile, our Planning team coordinated a right-of-way closure for a portion of Maiden Lane. They also worked with our engineers to design site grading, water and sewer service, storm drainage, and stormwater control measures.
During construction, the contractor encountered several challenges that our multi-disciplinary team helped to overcome. For example, construction crews uncovered a sewer line and personnel access cover that had eluded the surveys and needed to be relocated, as well as a conflict between a storm drain and a utility pole. WithersRavenel worked with the City of Raleigh’s inspectors to devise alternate routes for both utilities that could be reviewed and approved quickly.
When the construction team had issues with the installation of several sidewalks and curbs, WithersRavenel offered a revised design that went in more smoothly. Similarly, when the contractor needed to raise a slab for trash and recycling dumpsters, WithersRavenel stepped in to provide a ramp design to make the receptacles accessible.
By staying in close contact with the contractor throughout construction, WithersRavenel was able to provide smart solutions that kept the project on schedule and allowed Trilogy Cameron Village to open to residents on time.
