WithersRavenel provided professional services for an assessment of assets at the City of Gastonia’s three wastewater treatment facilities: Long Creek, Crowders Creek, and Eagle Road. This assessment included a review of recommendations made in several studies the City previously completed, along with a field review of assets.
Following the reviews and information gathering, our wastewater professionals analyzed the data and developed a ranking system to prioritize capital improvement projects. Factors considered during collaboration with the City included age and condition of assets; project costs; criticality to operations and efficiency; service area impacts; and safety to staff and community.
The deliverable was a scored and prioritized capital improvement plan (CIP), which included budget and project cost information. The plan focused on an attainable schedule of improvements to wastewater assets.
