WithersRavenel is working with the Town of Weaverville on a significant expansion at its Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to serve an increasing population and improve overall system capacity and reliability. Ultimately, the improvements will double the plant’s capacity from 1.5 million gallons per day (MGD) to 3.0 MGD per day. The expansion will include the design and construction of improvements to piping, additional settling units, chemical treatment, a larger clearwell, sludge holding tanks, a sludge dewatering system, chemical feed systems, a new generator, and SCADA.
Additional improvements at the raw water pump station will include a new pump, valves and electrical equipment along with elevated hydraulics and a new emergency generator.
WithersRavenel is providing a range of services, including project management, engineering design, surveying, SUE, environmental documentation and permitting, and construction administration services. Design services and review will be coordinated with the Town of Weaverville, staff, and leadership.
WithersRavenel is also providing funding application and administration services, which will be critical to helping the town fund these improvements. Our firm is also providing a related financial analysis and rate study.
