On Saturday, April 28th, staff from WithersRavenel’s Wilmington office volunteered with Work on Wilmington to paint and landscape at DC Virgo Preparatory Academy. Work on Wilmington is an annual volunteer event organized by the Leadership Wilmington class that involves more than 1,000 volunteers tackling approximately 30 service projects. Projects include interior/exterior painting, landscaping, community clean-ups, and small construction projects; the event relies on donations of materials to complete the projects. Area non-profits, local governmental organizations, and New Hanover County schools like DC Virgo are all eligible recipients of these efforts.
Joe Boyd, one of our civil engineers and a member of this year’s Leadership Wilmington class, served as the project manager of the site. About 25 volunteers pitched in at the school, including Troy Beasley, Brian Bellis, Don Mizelle, Jenny Mizelle, Rick Rudin, Kyle Pohle, and Cassidy Franklin. WithersRavenel’s Vice President of Land Development Brock Storrusten, who normally works in our Cary office, made the trip to the coast to volunteer as well.
Many thanks to our staff for supporting Leadership Wilmington’s goal of educating, challenging, and motivating leaders and future leaders to use their skills to better the community, and for representing our core values of community, sustainability, quality, respect, and integrity.
