Land Development Project Manager Candidates – Downtown Raleigh, Cary & Wilmington

WithersRavenel, an ESOP company, is seeking Land Development project managers in our offices listed above. The ideal candidates will have 10+ years’ experience in design of land development related projects including site plan & construction drawings production, stormwater drainage and stormwater management design, site grading, site utilities and erosion control. The position will be responsible for managing projects and overseeing design teams for parks, mixed-use, commercial, residential, and urban design projects. Candidates should have a Bachelors or Masters in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, strong proficiency in AutoCAD and excellent writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Apply diversified knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices in broad areas
  • Manage design team producing complete project entitlement including design drawings, permitting & construction documents
  • Ensure quality project delivery for mixed-use, commercial & residential projects
  • Communicate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies and others as appropriate to the project

Civil Designer Candidates – Downtown Raleigh, Cary & Wilmington

WithersRavenel, an ESOP company, is seeking civil designer candidates for all offices listed above. The ideal candidates will have 2-4 years of preparing civil engineering drawings, site plans, construction plans, and design details utilizing computer aided drafting software and methods.Candidates should have an Associate’s degree or related technical certificate and 4 years minimum years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Able to work with minimal direction and minimal supervision to produce engineering documents and related material
  • Ability to develop working drawings for civil site plans (grading, drainage, and paving) from sketches (determines scales, layout, and need for specific detail)
  • Experience with development of plan and profile drawings with an understanding of page layout and the use of exaggerated vertical scales
  • Work on multiple project tasks while maintaining a high level of flexibility and meeting deadlines

Stormwater Engineering Professional (Entry Level) – Cary

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare calculations, technical reports, permit applications, designs, construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules for stormwater engineering projects.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, technical research, engineering design, and analysis for a variety of stormwater projects including: collection systems, stormwater control measures (BMPs), flood studies, and other projects.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Biosystems, Agricultural, or Environmental Engineering

Requirements:

  • Certification as an Engineering Intern or Professional Engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers & Surveyors. Engineering students on schedule to graduate by December 2017 and pursuing an Engineering Intern certification may be considered for this position.

  • Research and obtain standards/codes required by client and jurisdiction coordinating with Project Management and technical staff as necessary to accurately and efficiently develop plans
  • Apply technical concepts and theoretical design information to real world situations under the direction of a Professional
  • Complete deliverables and project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule, reviewing drawings for completeness and accuracy
  • Use various applications to generate drawings, reports, or other technical based deliverables based on specific project requirements
  • Analyze technical problems; devise new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions; and communicate those to supervisor for approval and implementation

Survey Crew Chief – Cary

Position Summary:

This person is responsible for the operation of a field survey crew. The major objectives are the quality (accuracy, thoroughness, clarity, meets regulatory requirements, public relations) of work, safety, meeting schedules, within budgets, and responsive service to clients. Organizing field work, directing crew members, maintaining safe work environment, protecting and maintaining the equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collecting field data and locating features, delivering data to the office, maintaining accurate records of work and expenses.

Primary tasks will be centered around residential lot surveys and construction layout for houses.

Qualification/Requirements:

Surveying experience utilizing robotic total stations. Good technical skills; behavioral traits of process oriented, steady, helpful, analytical, problem solver, likes work alone when required, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, hates mistakes, likes structure.

Valid driver’s license required. Background check as well as DMV records will be conducted for position.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions and terrain environment.

Must be prompt to work for crew to depart to work locations on a daily basis.

Survey Instrument Operator – Cary

Position Summary:

This person is responsible for assisting the Crew Chief in the operation of a field survey crew. Work as a member of the survey crew performing field boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for both public and private clients. The major objectives are the quality (accuracy, thoroughness, meets regulatory requirements, public relations) of work, safety, and maintenance of equipment. Operating equipment, maintaining safe work environment, protecting and maintaining the equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collecting field data and locating features.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions and walking ability to maneuver in all geographical terrain

Primary tasks will be centered around residential lot surveys and construction layout for houses.

Qualification/Requirements:

Valid driver’s license and high school diploma or GED. Good technical skills; behavioral traits of process oriented, steady, helpful, analytical, problem solver, likes work alone when required, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, hates mistakes, likes structure. Experience a plus in survey field operations, with survey equipment operational knowledge.
