Survey Instrument Person – Cary Office

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Crew Chief in the operation of a field survey crew
  • Perform field boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for both public and private clients
  • Overall quality (accuracy, thoroughness, meets regulatory requirements, public relations) of work, safety, and maintenance of equipment
  • Operating equipment, maintaining safe work environment, protecting and maintaining the equipment and vehicles
  • Accurately and efficiently collecting field data and locating features

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Good technical skills
  • Process oriented, steady, helpful, analytical, and a problem solver

Preferences:

  • Three to six months progressive experience in survey field operations
  • Proficiency with survey equipment (total stations and GPS, SUE locating equipment, or hydrographic equipment)

WithersRavenel, an ESOP company, is seeking Land Development engineers in our offices listed above.  The ideal candidates will have 1-4 years’ experience in design of land development related projects including site plan & construction drawings production, stormwater drainage and stormwater management design, site grading, site utilities and erosion control.  The position will be responsible for contributing to a design team for parks, mixed-use, commercial, residential, and urban design projects.  Candidates should have a Bachelors or Masters in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, strong proficiency in AutoCAD and excellent writing and communication skills.

WithersRavenel, an ESOP company, is seeking civil designer candidates for all offices listed above.   The ideal candidates will have 2-4 years of  preparing civil engineering drawings, site plans, construction plans, and design details utilizing computer aided drafting software and methods.Candidates should have an Associate’s degree or related technical certificate and 4 years minimum years of experience.

 

Responsibilities

  • Able to work with minimal direction and minimal supervision to produce engineering documents and related material
  • Ability to develop working drawings for civil site plans (grading, drainage, and paving) from sketches (determines scales, layout, and need for specific detail)
  • Experience with development of plan and profile drawings with an understanding of page layout and the use of exaggerated vertical scales

This will be an evolving position responsible for supporting all technology aspects of a multi-office design engineering/surveying firm.   Some of the main focus will be to provide high level of support to all employees as well as designing and implementing technology solutions relevant to the industry.  The most frequent and essential work activities include:

  • Complete various helpdesk related tasks and assignments
  • Install and maintain computer software and hardware
  • Set up and install new user accounts and equipment (computers, printers, tablets)
  • Active Directory Administration
  • Provide support for mobile computing (cell phones, laptops, tablets)
  • Organize and manage IT equipment
  • Monitor and troubleshoot server/network systems

WithersRavenel, an ESOP company, is seeking SUE Professional candidates for our Cary location.  The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of Sub-Surface Utility Engineering (SUE) experience using both Electromagnetic (EM) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment.  Experience with Survey Equipment such as, Total Stations and GPS would also be preferred.  Candidates should have an Associate’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
