WithersRavenel welcomes Emily Buehrer-Douglas, PLA, ASLA, as a new Senior Project Manager to lead landscape architecture services at our growing Charlotte office.
Emily is a longtime landscape architect and project manager. She has nearly two decades of experience leading projects and initiatives in the greater Charlotte area and Piedmont region. In addition to developing creative designs for a range of public and private clients, she regularly leads project teams and coordinates with other consultants.
Emily understands the feasibility of planning and programming within challenging environments, and can communicate those characteristics to project stakeholders and community audiences. She confidently addresses client needs with an eye on budgets and deadlines, all while delivering a superior client experience.
“I’m excited to join WithersRavenel, a company known for its commitment to innovative design and sustainable planning,” Emily said. “Being a part of a team that transforms ideas into functional, impactful spaces is truly inspiring, and I look forward to contributing to projects that reflect the firm’s dedication to excellence and community-focused solutions.”
A professionally licensed landscape architect, Emily earned an MBA from UNC Charlotte and a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Ohio State University. She has been a member of CREW Charlotte for 10 years serving on various committees and as a board member during that time. She has been named one of Mecklenburg Times 50 Most Influential Women, honored as a Woman of Influence by Globe St., and recognized by NCASLA for her contributions to the profession with the President’s Council Award.
“As thoughtful design becomes increasingly recognized as a central component to building successful places by both the public and private sectors, adding landscape architecture to complete our wrap-around service offerings was vital. Emily’s depth of asset class experience and long tenure in the Charlotte market was a perfect complement to the growing WithersRavenel team,” said Tobe Holmes, Business Development Representative in our Charlotte office.
Emily has been part of the Charlotte community for almost 20 years and loves exploring the beautiful outdoor spaces in the region with her husband, Sean, and two children, Elijah and Sophia.
“From parks and greenways to hidden nature spots, there is always something new to discover. It’s the perfect way to recharge and connect with both nature and each other,” Emily said.
WithersRavenel is excited to welcome Emily to our team of employee-owners! If you need assistance with landscape architecture on an upcoming project in the greater Charlotte area, contact her at 704-258-0939 or ebuehrerdouglas@withersravenel.com.
