Asheville Oakley Fire Station No. 9 is a new two-story station that will serve the Oakley area of east Asheville. The approximately 13,259-square-foot facility will replace the City of Asheville’s existing Station No. 9, its smallest fire station at just under 5,000 square feet. The new station will include three apparatus bays.
WithersRavenel is providing site and civil coordination from the design development phase through construction. The team is working closely with ADW Architects to coordinate the building, site, access, circulation, and operational requirements within a compact property.
The design must also maintain access to the heavily used pickleball and tennis courts at Murphy-Oakley Park, where circulation routes cross the fire station property. Careful coordination will support the station’s daily operations while preserving access to these community amenities.
As part of the broader Oakley Public Safety Complex, the new station will help improve local fire and police operations and strengthen the public safety network serving the Oakley community and the City of Asheville.
