WithersRavenel is a consultant in the Duke Energy Site Readiness Program. Our firm prepared Site Readiness Reports for five Duke sites in North Carolina to encourage economic development.
For each site, WithersRavenel visited the property to understand the site characteristics, including potential environmental features, site access points, roadway networks, topographic conditions, and the location of utilities.
Based on the findings, WithersRavenel prepared a buildable area exhibit to illustrate the potential for future site development at each location. The team also recommended, when necessary, that additional due diligence work be considered to further understand the site constraints and minimize development risks.
One of the sites we examined was the Byrd Site, just outside downtown Lillington in Harnett County. Offering opportunities for industrial development, the approximately 220-acre site contains four separate buildable tracts. The site has power, gas, water, sewer, and fiber utilities. It is adjacent to U.S. 401, and features on-site rail access.
