October is Employee Ownership Month, and this year it is a particularly special one for us: WithersRavenel is celebrating 40 years in business! For Ownership Month 2023, we’ve got a packed schedule of nostalgic looks at the past and exciting glimpses into the future.
In honor of our milestone anniversary, this Ownership Month will be themed around the 1983 science fiction film classic Back to the Future. Events will range from one-hour activities to multi-week challenges. Here’s a look at what’s in store:
Viva Engage Challenge – A three-week-long show-and-tell of our favorite old photos, tech, toys, snacks, and fashions tagged #blastfromthepast – Hosted by the ESOP Communication Committee
Young Professionals Group (YPG) Kick-off Event – An internal networking and social event for our Triangle young professionals featuring food from The Flat Drum food truck, cornhole, a tour of our new office in the Rogers Building in downtown Cary – Hosted by the Young Professionals Group
Spirit Day: 1983 – Showing our WithersRavenel spirit by wearing our favorite throwback outfits from the year of our founding – Hosted by the ESOP Communication Committee
Breast Cancer Awareness Walk – A 1-mile morning walk to honor the special women in our lives who have been impacted by breast cancer – Hosted by Remarkable Women & Thrive
Owners’ Day – The highlight of the month, bringing together all our employee-owners for a state-of-the-company meeting and teambuilding activities
Miracle League of the Triangle Volunteer Event – Supporting a one-of-a-kind program providing children and adults with special needs with an opportunity to play baseball in a safe and accessible place – Hosted by the ESOP Communication Committee & IDE Task Force
As in previous years, these events will fulfill the ECC’s three main objectives:
Providing ESOP Education
Spearheading community outreach and volunteer programming
Promoting WithersRavenel culture
