WithersRavenel’s funding professionals recently helped our municipal clients earn more than $6.3 million in grants and loans for drinking water, sewer, and stormwater projects, along with lead service line inventories and replacements.
The grant and loan award announcements were distributed through the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) and its Division of Water Infrastructure (DWI). The application process was competitive, and the State Water Infrastructure Authority reviewed 203 eligible applications, which requested a total of $1.63 billion. The State Water Infrastructure Authority approved the awards during its meeting in February.
Following the meeting, North Carolina Governor Josh Stein announced that $265 million in funding would go to communities across the state to pay for 99 projects in 45 different counties.
