Brock Storrusten has been named the Chair of the 2020-2021 Board of Trustees for the Political Action Committee (PAC) and Legislative Committee of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC/NC).
The purpose of the PAC is to financially support candidates for North Carolina public office that share the goal of enhancing the business of engineering. As Chair, Brock collaborates with the Board and the Executive Director in aligning the efforts of the PAC with ACEC/NC’s Strategic Plan. In conjunction with the PAC Committee, the Board, and the Executive Director, the Legislative Committee brings forth and vets ACEC/NC’s proposed legislative efforts for the improvement of North Carolina’s communities, businesses, and engineering profession.
When asked what it meant to be selected by ACEC/NC for this role, Brock said, “It is a great honor to be a part of such a locally and nationally influential organization and have the opportunity to help drive initiatives that benefit us and the State of North Carolina as well as collaborating to build a more diverse membership base. They have established themselves as nationwide ACEC leaders before I was involved, and hopefully I can live up to their expectations.”
The ACEC/NC PAC is a state-level PAC that can accept individual contributions from any employee of an ACEC/NC member firm. The PAC is governed by a five-person Board of Trustees, and each member serves a one-year term.
ACEC/NC is the sole organization in North Carolina that represents the business interests of the engineering industry in the state. ACEC/NC also provides legislative advocacy for member companies and strives to build relationships between the private and public sectors of the engineering industry.
In addition to ACEC/NC, Brock participates in the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County Governmental Affairs Committee, the Town of Cary Economic Development Committee and on the Board for the Triangle Community Coalition and the Wake STEM Early College High School Business Advisory Board. These engagements reflect his commitment to providing progressive leadership in land development throughout the Triangle.
Please join us in congratulating Brock Storrusten on this new endeavor with ACEC/NC!
