The NoVi Green at Chatham Park has been recognized for Best Landscape Design at the 2026 MAME Awards, celebrating a community space designed to bring people together through recreation, events, and everyday outdoor experiences.
Located within Chatham Park’s North Village Center, known as NoVi, the Village Green is part of a broader mixed-use community shaped around walkability, connectivity, and outdoor living. A network of parks, landscaped corridors, and pedestrian-friendly streets links homes, businesses, recreational amenities, and gathering spaces throughout the neighborhood.
The Village Green, located at the heart of the neighborhood, and the Mews, positioned as a central gathering space within NoVi’s eastern area, serve as signature community destinations. Together, these spaces create opportunities for informal recreation, social interaction, community programming, and time outdoors.
The Chatham Park YMCA anchors the southern end of the Village Green and played an important role in the surrounding design. WithersRavenel incorporated a hardscape plaza along Parkland Drive in front of the YMCA, allowing the street and green to function together during special events. The flexible design can accommodate activities such as concerts, movie nights, and community gatherings while strengthening the connection between the YMCA and the larger neighborhood.
WithersRavenel Design + Planning team provided comprehensive design leadership for NoVi’s outdoor environment, beginning with initial visioning and master planning and continuing through detailed construction documentation. The team helped shape the landscape architecture, site lighting, placemaking elements, pedestrian connections, and overall user experience.
The result is a cohesive network of public spaces that supports both daily neighborhood life and larger community events. The 2026 MAME Award recognition reflects the thoughtful planning and design behind a place that has quickly become a defining destination within Chatham Park.
